Halcyon Tag is a prototype platform that allows users to attach names to images, helping us identify people in digitized images. What does this accomplish? This metadata can then be discovered by researchers and community members searching Swarthmore's digital archives. Putting names to faces makes our digital objects more useful in the future, in support of research and the Swarthmore community. The platform itself is reusable for other digitized archival collections. And it is one small example of the digital projects McCabe is looking to explore in the coming years.
